This little ham has been enjoying his life as a display animal at the berkshire museum. He sits as close as he can to the glass and watches people all day. He'll be there until may, and I hope he doesnt outgrow that cage by then.

That Spilotes is amazing. Any body shots of him? There was a large pair of them in the classifieds not long back, both over 8' and both supposedly 'tame,' and it was a real choice between them and the unicolor cribo I bought...lol. But I think I went with the right one. Besides, I'll just wait until more people produce Spilotes in captivity and get a nice pair of babies. Anyway, thanks for the photo. He really is nice.

They are cool snakes, i had one in the early 90's that was orange and black. Really unique, he was an import about 4 ft long, only one i have ever seen that was orange instead of yellow. Unfortunately way before digital cameras were available.

thanks!

yeah he really is a looker, and I dont have any body shots yet. I'm loaning him to a local museum for a reptile display, so I only see him once a week. I'll try to get a full body shot on sunday. I think the choice of cribo was definately the beter decision, wc spilotes are usually EVIL, tough feeders, and full of parasites. I was careful to find a CB, but once I get the hang of their care I might risk buying a nice WC one for breeding. def post pics of your cribo when you get him!

I think the orange and black ones are from mexico? correct me if I'm wrong. these things are amazing snakes no matter what colors they come in. This one has a split personality, some days I have to use a hook or he'll shred my hands, other days hes as sweet as a rosy boa. I cant figure him out. He is probably just very smart.
