I think I just figured out how to post pics! Oh this is my "Yellow Belly"

FerrisBueler Jan 17, 2005 10:49 PM

What sucks is I had to keep making the picture smaller and smaller and smaller until it was "small enough." It was a good picture until it got this small...

You think she looks like a Yellow Belly? Again...1 in 10,000 chance it is...

What makes you assume its a 1 in 10,000 chance? That's like a caucasian person saying they have a 1 in 10,000 chance of being chinese, or african-american.

If its a normal, it doesn't have a 1 in ANYTHING chance. And that is a normal.

Go here to find out about yellow bellies:

FerrisBueler Jan 17, 2005 11:44 PM

>>> Yes they do miss an occassional YB Ball, but very few. BHB enterpises said he will get about one YB out of every 10,000 he imports.

I was referring to that statement. So I was saying I understood the chances of this ball being a yellow belly.
Clearing things up is ok with me.

Ryan

Oh, and asfreptiles...you never know. It could be genetic. I'm not trying to start anything, but IMO, you just don't want it to be a yellow belly. LOL. It's alright, it's understandable. I have to admit I get a little jealous too seeing these commercial breeders with really rare snakes.

LOL. It probably isn't a yellow-belly. In fact, it's belly IS mostly white...

Oh yeah...I'm totally new to this posting pics thing...I just learned a little while ago.

by the way -- those are our YBs -- we have bred them ourselves -- this is no guess work here! -- or 1 in 10000 wish!

That is not the defining trait of the yellow belly. The name was a poor choice. Look at the pics on the link, and you'll see. In fact, just like all the other co-dom morphs (pastel, lesser, mojave, cinnies, etc) the belly is PATTERNLESS (somwehat), and it has a bunch of weird crap leading up to the sides.

Almost every normal Ball Python I own has yellow spots on the belly.

FerrisBueler Jan 17, 2005 11:55 PM

I guess you didn't catch the sarcasm, jeff.

And congrats on your yellow bellies, guy, I wish I were that lucky.

asfreptiles Jan 18, 2005 12:06 AM

Jeff, now that I keep looking at that picture of his I think it is a YB. I think we should persuade him to breed it to everything he has and start making millions. Maybe he will hit the Jackpot like Amir and Jared did this past year. Who knows? Super YellowBelly Stripe!!! WOW!!! the worst he can do is produce a bunch of $6 normals. And even those female he can feed up to 1000g and sell for $500 each. WIN WIN situation!

GOD Bless
Andre

hope you have a good one Jeff!

Start making millions now Ferris!

FerrisBueler Jan 18, 2005 12:19 AM

Time to start making millions! What if that did happen...a YellowBelly Stripe? No no no...a Super YellowBelly Stripe! Wouldn't that be somethin...and you'd be feelin stupid.

asfreptiles Jan 17, 2005 11:27 PM

It has a yellow belly but ITS NOT a genetic YB(het for Ivory)!

FerrisBueler Jan 18, 2005 12:02 AM

One last thing for future reference. It's " I couldn't care less." Not "I could care less."

If you say you could care less, you are stating that you care. If you COULDN'T care less, then you don't care at all.

Thanks for caring,

Ryan

I'm thinking of some pretty good acronyms, but I bet none of them are right. I just don't understand why these guys that should be really happy with themselves are always so touchy. I mean really is it necessary to come off like a ... well you know... to make your point? Take a breath.. count to ten... think about how many costomers you want to loose today... then reply

Is it really necessary to tell someone to "get a life"? Its pretty obvious that if you are doing the same thing they are (i.e. posting messages on kingsnake) that they have the same quality of life as you do.

asfreptiles Jan 18, 2005 12:28 AM

His sarcasm of me not wanting his ball python to be a YB was uncalled for. I just tried to explain to him and lead him into the right direction to what YBs are.
I have done the same with you in your post below on what to do with your Pastel male and only have 1 female. What problems do you have with getting help? Isn't what you are here for? Posting thread after thread with questions. You get to post the question and we get to answer it. Simple. Why you so upset with that?

GOD Bless
Andre

rwoodyer Jan 18, 2005 12:34 AM

I'm not upset with the help, not even upset really...

Just think maybe the attitude could go from aggressively bitter to...oh .... I don't know...NICE?!?

Always Save Face ...get it... acronym...get it

FerrisBueler Jan 18, 2005 12:44 AM

Well, the guy could have started the business with 2 friends. A for Andre, S for Scott, and F for Frank!!!

Makes sense.

Am I right?!

RReptiles would sound weird...I need a business partner...

RYAN

asfreptiles Jan 18, 2005 12:55 AM

"always saving face"

Do I really want as nice as you? Why you hiding behind that screen name? Something to hide?

Just stating the truth here. If the truth hurts then time to get out. I dont care to be a fake and hide. I told Ryan the truth in my own opinion and the opinion of others like Jeff.

GOD Bless
Andre

rwoodyer Jan 18, 2005 01:30 AM

Nah!! I wasn't being nice...I guess I was a little upset.

See the thing is, I was going to spend $30,000 on snakes at ASF reptiles, but now I have to spend $40,000 to get the same thing at NERD, because at least they own up to their acronym.

I'm just kidding...take it easy Andre. I got nothing to hide, I posted pics of my whole collection on here (no yellow bellies either), and it doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure out my last name from my user name.

PS I appreciate the advice on the pastels, but my measley three drawer rack and two 50 gallons only let me keep so many snakes... you know? You got any adult females you want to sell...let me know

Later

FerrisBueler Jan 18, 2005 12:36 AM

Get a life...and you have a life because you have yellow bellies? Are you saying if you don't have a YB, you don't have a life? Well...I think a lot of people wouldn't have lives...

And I wasn't "So upset."

Hey, I'm not here to fight with you...Andre?

Didn't I say when I was saying that stuff at the beginning, that I wasn't trying to start anything with you?

I was hoping I wouldn't have to go back to that, but I guess that's how it is.

Just forget it all, please.

Ryan

asfreptiles Jan 18, 2005 12:48 AM

I dont think its a YB. Every other day someone post this YB thing. I just stated my opinion so you may go on with your breeding projects and not wasting time with trying to proven this animal out. Your comment about me "not wanting it to be a YB" and then ending it with "LOL" was unnessecary. Thats why I posted "get a life" and "I couldNT care less if it were a YB"

GOD Bless
Andre

It looks more like a YB to ME than a lot of "YB" in the classifieds. That's just IMO.

Thanks for your input everyone,

Ryan

woodage Jan 18, 2005 09:29 AM

I had a BP like that but only a lot more like yellow belly markings. I wasnt sure what it was so I sent a couple of pics to Ralph Davies. He replyed saying it was a normal but good luck anyway. No sarcasm, no oneupmanship, no being a total dick about it . Just a straight answer. Thanks Ralph! The rest of you lot would LOVE to find a yellowbelly sat there in a pet shop or passed onto you from some un-educated pet snake owner so why give the guy a hard time?? Bottom line if if you DID chance apon one you would take it to your nearest ball python buddy an check to see if your suspisions were correct. Just like this guy was doing.
Stop [bleep]ing idiots.

snakebstr Jan 18, 2005 02:41 PM

Sorry.... NOT A YELLOW BELLY

Here is a belly shot of a yellow belly, But this is just a typical yellow belly shot of the belly it has not been proven....yet.

snakebstr Jan 18, 2005 03:10 PM

NOTICE ALL of the FIRE sides(flames) coming from the belly and shooting way up on almost EVERY Black marking near the belly and it also has a very clear Yellowish Orange belly, From what I have heard not all Yellow bellies have yellow bellies, But A lot of people get confused about Yellow bellie( me included). I have around 10-15 Yellow belly look-a-likes that I am working on proving our in the next few years.

Here is another picture of the Yellow bellies belly
