If you don't like it, don't post to it. You can still post whatever you want about any kind of boa here.

Relax... if no one uses them,.... then it would be just like not having them.

I think it's wrong to segregate different groups of boas and agree all should be kept together. I don't have the time to browse through a dozen forums for the sake of a "bigger is better" mentality. I think whatever everyone has to offer should be consolidated on one forum. The same thing has already been done to the classifieds section and I think it stinks. Some of the other classified boa sections have about ten percent of the exposure when compared with the main boa section. Posting animals in the other areas is the same as leaving them unposted sitting in a cage as far as I'm concerned. I don't see the purpose and wish we could go back to the future.

that can be learned by discussing habits, traits, etc. across the boundaries of the different boas. Like was said in an earlier post, if we subgroup everything there won't be as many people checking on this forum to give their input and share their experience.

I agree on the your thought, not necessarily your expression of it LOL. I do wish that there would be more postings from the other Boa groups and feel that the forum lost some of it’s flare when the other groups were sent to other forums. I find the other groups interesting and like learning about them, and even like using that information to find what my knew challenge or next project might be. I would agree to have them back.
Unfortunately, many of the non-Bcssp keepers went ignored on this forum due to some of the more heated discussion on the BC group. So the Canidoa Group may have more like minded groups on their site now and it may work out better for them as a whole. I however miss the mix.
Thanks

Apparently no is bothering to listen to what I said previously.

The general boa forum is STILL the exact same general boa forum that is open to discussion on any type of boa species that is has always been.

We are NOT forcing dumeril, or candoia, or rainbow, or anaconda or what-have-you boa people to use only those specific forum breakdowns. We have never forced them to stay only on those forums and post only on those forums.

Just because you don't want those forums does not mean that other people don't want them. There are people who DO want them. There is room for everyone to be happy here and that is exactly what we are trying to do.

Those individuals who WANT to discuss specific topics and don't want to wade through a general boa forum don't have to. They can go to the specific forum of their choice rather than use the general forum.

Those individuals that DON'T want/like the more specific forums and would rather stay in the 'general' boa forum setting are not being told to go anywhere...they can stay right where they are.

Then there are going to be those individuals who will make use of both formats.

See...everyone gets what they want and are happy. What's the problem here?

the morphs and locales ending up in the "same" forum. That was the only division I ever hoped for, because of all the nastiness in the past that seemed to crop up every few days. It seemed that splitting these two crowds might cut down on the derogatory remarks and flame wars......but then what do I know. Now, morphs, locales and the great ruination of boas debate can happily snuggle up in their own little forum. Gotta love it.

If somebody wants to learn about sand boas, is it that difficult to click on the sand boa link? Does having sub categories encourage people to post information? NO! This is clearly a situation of crying over spilled milk. Having sub categories only makes it easier for people to find what they are looking for. If you wish information in regards to a specific animal... kingsnake makes it easier and convenient for you to find what you are looking for. I'm guessing people have all the time in the world to be reading about elephants and gold fish in a boa forum, but to the people that live busy lives and would like a little information about a specific animal they keep..... forums like this are a gold mine. The bottom line is that kingsnake is not taking anything away from anybody, they are just making information easier to find.

and yes.... I was over exagerrating......just in case you sensitive types got hurt.

PHScales Jan 18, 2005 06:44 PM

Hmmm.... nope, don't detect any vacuum or other "sipping" type sounds in here... Heck, I hardly have time to vacuum my house, much less this forum. So, nope, I highly doubt the forum sucks.

(For those without a sense of humor, the above was an attempt at it. Please read Wyvern's post below and take it to heart.)

Now, for a mild repeat:

You are welcome to discuss ANY form of boa here on the main boa forum. If you don't like the sub-forums, don't use them. Continue to discuss all your boa-related issues and topics here. If, on the other hand, you're looking for specific advice that you are better able to get help with from topic-specific posters, then post there. No one's forcing you to do either.

Now, once all the dust has settled, this place will need a vacuum... but it still won't suck.
