If it is, eating is a good sign. What the heck kind of substrate is that?

yes that is the same snake. he has never had any problems (since i got him) with eating. the substrate is repti bark. it works really good at keeping humidity but since i have to keep him misted down it just sticks to him and then he drags it into his water bowl with him so it looks like im gonna have to switch to newspaper or something.
