old age

hello
how could you tell age in a boa, its not like here hair is going gray, but what this do change. where could a person find some growth charts on yound boas. thank you kate

Determining the age of a boa is very difficult. My Oldest female is over 10 years old now (11 to be exact) and she still has a very strong look with nice clean scales and a nice shine to her. She is huge though and to get to her size (10 60 lbs) does take some time. But I also have a CB 98 Boa that is getting close to 10’ plus and actually has a bigger head then the older female.
The difference in feeding when young, CB vs. WC and many other factors including the genes makes it very hard to tell the age by looks. I imagine that a 20 year old boa might have a duller look and start to show some age, but I won’t know that for another 9 years. A growth chart won’t really tell you much on age as the growth rate can be hugely influenced by feeding and temps.
