Wood and Stone for terrarium...

Samurai33 Jan 18, 2005 01:39 PM

Sorry this is long.

We have three bearded dragons and a frilled dragon. Right now the beardies have a stepping stone (that was disinfected) that is used as their basking spot. We're looking to replace the stepping stone with something that is lighter, but still retains heat so they can warm their belly's. I've heard people mention resin products? I was thinking of getting a trivet, but not sure how that would work.

Our other dilemma is we are re-doing our Frilled Dragons cage and need new wood. I can't seem to find a place that has nice wood that is straight and doesn't have a bunch of holes or knooks for the crickets to hide. Also he poops on his wood a lot and I was hoping to maybe even find fake wood that would be easier to keep clean.

Any suggestions would be much appreciated. Also any tips on keeping a Frilled would also be great, it's really hard to find more indepth info. We've had him a month and he's going on his third shed (yippee). We rescued him from a pet store. Thanks!!!

I had a similar situation myself. I looked into the fake stone work. IE tile grout over polystyrene. I think this when sealed will provide you what your looking for. Just a thought
