standings day gecko

badtbob Jan 18, 2005 02:42 PM

I just got my standings day gecko about a week ago and it is doing great. I just have a couple questions. How important is humidity to this gecko? Can to much humidity actually hurt this gecko? Also any other helpful tips about this species would help.

They prefer a little less humidity than the "greener" Phelsuma, but it is still very important.

They are more of an "Arid type" Day gecko. They still need about 50% to 60% humidity. You want daytime temps in the mid to high 80s and nighttime temps in the 70s.

I love standings! They have the best personalities!

Make sure to keep the humidity up when they are peeling, it helps them shed easier. Also, in general, if the cage is too wet, it can lead to infections of the skin and toe pads.
