Sliders and other turtles

catnipcutie Jan 18, 2005 04:38 PM

Would I be able to put a northern red bellied turtle in with my sliders? Do they need different conditions?

Just curious.

Thanks

I have a big tank with 3 RES, 2 Yellow Belly Sliders, and 1 Red Belly Slider in it. They all do quite well together [in the same tank for a year now]. NOTE: they must be the same size!!! I cannot stress this enough. My wife and I had a tragic acident where we learned that you DO NOT put different size turtles in the same tank. One of the other posts mentions that everthing you put in the tank smaller than the turtle will be seen as food. They have the brian the size of a small pea, and everthing else you put in there they eat, so why not that new thing with four legs?
