This is how i find my collared after my workday...

mizar 21 Jan 18, 2005 05:33 PM

Today when i come back from work, i check my collared. I brumate him for the first time this year and i was very close of losing him, he was very sick and near death for a while. Now he's back and as mean as before, lol. For those who dont know him, he hiss and try to bite as soon as i put my hand in his enclosure. I find him relaxed like that and do you think he was sending me a message ? His food plate was empty...

He was very sleepy for a week or two before i decided to brumate him, he never wanted to brumate in 5 year before that. I start the brumation, i keep it at that for about 6 weeks. Then during the waking up period, he start to rapidly lose weight and have difficulty breathing. I guess it was a respiratory infection, his eyes were also swollen and puffy. I try to get an appointment with a vet, but i wasnt able to have any. So i keep him warm, give him water with a dropper a couple of times a days, i also gently wash the crust on his eyes. Later i made him mealies soup, lol, smashed mealies with vitamins and water that i give him with a dropper. He do take some, after that i give him cat food soup, (i have some high proteins and vitamins cat food made especially to boost health in sick cat) that i mix with water. That seem to help, also he pass several poop of only sand ! so i guess impaction was a factor too. He is getting a lot better now.
