I am about to aquire 2 "YacareXDiamond" Caimen through a breeder. According to him they only reach 4 to 6 feet. So, based on this information, I'm thinking they should be okay in a plastic pre-formed pond that's 120 gallons for a while. To give you an idea for what I'm talking about, click and paiste the link below to see a pic of "JawBone's" pond.

Notice the shower drain in the bottom. I was planning on incorporating this idea for the filtration. I thought I would allow the water to flow out the bottom and let gravity force the water through a series of filters, much like the one made by "big tank", in the link below.(Which I have only a faint idea of how to make.)

Then I figured I could allow that water to flow into another resevoir in which a normal sump pump would sit. The sump would definitely have the power to push the water up and in to the pond but would it be too much? I thought so. Plus they run about $100 so it wouldnt make much sence to buy it unless it would work for sure. I'd love to get some feed back.
