I almost always get my "wall paper" from kingsnake.com (hope this doesn't offend anyone!)... when I see an exceptional photograph I usually "right click" on the image and choose the option "set as background". That way I always have something that is just "snakey" and that changes frequently. Someone on the cornsnake forum posted a pic of a corn snake with a calculator, pencil, and a pad of paper, I have that set as my school computer background... it's great to have something "math" oriented, but "snakey" since I'm a high school math teacher.

I suppose some people could be offended that I use their photos as my backgrounds and almost always I don't ask, but I don't sell them and don't keep them longer than I want them. Since I don't use them for anything but my visual enjoyment (and salute the photographer mentally)

you have to be careful and not use any copyrighted pictures I think you could get in trouble for that if you did.
i am just looking for a california kingsnake wall paper lol
and so far i have not found any but I guess I could look some more.

john

Actually that is not true. You do have to have permission to use a photo for your desktop background.

about pictures on the web..... You do not need permission from the "owner" of the picture to:

*use it as a desktop background
no more than you need permission from the "owner" of a picture that you cut out of a magazine and tape it to your bedroom wall

*copy/paste/e-mail to friends, etc...
no more than you need permission from the "owner" of a picture that you cut out of a magazine/newspaper and put it in an envelope and mail it to someone

Thats what I thought, just wanted to make sure I hadn't messed up and confessed to a major faux pas.

Now if I were to take all the "best" pics from kingsnake, burn em on a CD, and sell the CD at herp shows, THAT would be copyright infringement and I would deserve all that I would get from it.

But if I wanted to do that I'd look at all the great photography I see on the net, and work on my own skills until MY snakes could look just as good as everyone elses (they already do, but my PHOTOS of my snakes don't).

Lady, the Pyro Kerby gave us, and Jester, our Aberrant banded Cal King from Kerby also. I've included a picture of a garter snake that was given to me at work, cage included, only to have the snake escape a week later. (sure made the students nervous!)
