Gender Behavioral differences?

maize_n_olivia Jan 19, 2005 08:45 AM

I notice that my young female flourescent spends way more time in the water bowl than my male silver ghost queen.

Is this a gender difference?
She loves swimming, usually takes a dip directly after a meal, rubbing her nose on the rough lip of the bowl, she looks like a cat when she does it, it's adorable.
and I've never seen him swim...

is mites. some snakes will soak in order to try to rid themselves of mites. do you see any little pepper things crawling about? those are mites.

naw she just got checked out

and I know what to look for because Darwin had them before I brought him home (my ball python) and had to be treated before bringing him into the house

I check them everytime I take them out, she's clean as a whistle

I have corns that wont use a heat mat and others that live on them.I have corns/rats that love the water bowl and some that dont.I have this stupid fake plant that has been in every tank Ive owned in the last 7 years.I have one juvie that has ever tried to climb it.Some of my snakes hide 99% of the time.I have others that refuse to hide. When I walk in the room almost all of my snakes(unless shedding)will watch every move I make until I sit down in front of my computer. If I move one screen on any cage they all go into feed mode(unless shedding). There all different to handle. My texas bairds and amels are a joy to hold.My hypos and kings would like to grow big enough to kill me.LOL.I could rant for days telling you the differences between my snakes.

yeah they've got so much character and that's what I love about them

even eating... maize goes at her food as if she's trying to kill it despite the fact that it's already dead... she coils up on it and holds it there for a few minutes
onyx just kind of lazily strolls over, picks it up and shoves it down without even attempting to make it look like he had to put any effort into it.

typical male female relationship
