I would like to know what anyone thinks of this diamond nose Ringer ball I have. It is a male around 400 grams.

She's georgous... I have never seen anything like the diamond nose, and her pattern is wonderful on it's own!!! I'd definately keep her and see what she produces. Good Luck!!!

Opinions? Is that what you're looking for or are you looking for someone to tell you that you may have just found the missing link in ball python mutations.
Anyways, nice reduced NORMAL. Yes, normal normal normal.
I have 2 "spot-nosed" balls (which this seems to be, maybe) and I call them NORMALS.
Good luck with your 'reduced normal, maybe spot-nosed' breeding project, I hope you get out of it what you were hoping for.

Thanks, But I am not hoping to get anything OUT of it. I just thought it was a super KOOL looking weird RINGER. I just wanted to see what would be said but I NEVER figured I would get some of the STUPID responces that I got. BOTTOM LINE the SNAKE is DIFFERENT and NOT a NORMAL to me. But here is the belly shot anyway.

You asked what people thought of it & got a bunch of "nameless" crap. I think it is a great looking Ball, normal or not. People sometimes forget (myself included) that other very cool morphs came from subtle, fairly normal looking animals.

I was asking for OPINIONs and Not Harassments, But that is kool. I will live....LOL...thanks Chad. I just figured I would show this weird patterned ball. I went through 600 normal balls, I think by now I know what a NORMAL looks like. Maybe that is why some of the larger breeders find the good stuff because they study 1,000's of normals that come into the country and pick the most extreme ones for projects...Take a minute and think of all of the NORMAL looking Ball pythons that have PRODUCED wicked offspring. I can name a list.

lemon balls................blue eye LUCY's
Fire balls.................Black eye lucy
Yellow bellies.............Ivorys and others
Phantoms...................Blue eyed lucy
Cinnamon pastel............Black balls..who would have thought

That is just to name a few.

I want to know how anyone thinks they can tell a normal from something not normal, when 1) they can't actually see the animal, but only a pic and 2) they don't know what abnormal feature they are looking for. This clearly isn't a mojave or an ivory, but...

If someone asks for an opinion, try respectfully giving it without being an imature jackass. Otherwise, go back to highschool where you can workout your latently homoerotic passive-aggressiveness (hopefully where the bully that gave you this complex still has not graduated from and continues to beat you senseless where he left off) and I mean that in the nicest way possible.

As for the snake...I think it looks moderately different from other normal BPs, maybe something genetic, maybe not. At the very worst, breeding it would result in more captive bred snakes and fewer of these awesome snakes being ripped out of the wild...so there is nothing to lose by breeding it. IMHO

So in OTHER WORDS.....you basically just wanted people to agree with you and not state their REAL opinions. Why not just say that and save all this banter? Its obvious that you didn't want an opinion that differed from yours, and its OBVIOUS that the people here were giving you their REAL impressions of the snake, so what is it that YOU want? Do you want people to just agree with you, but lie as to what they think about the snake? Or do you want them to really give you their opinion, which is what you originally asked?

You'd save yourself alot of grief if you figured out ahead of time what it actually is that you want out of the replies here. Then again, why shouldn't people's opinions about your normal be just as respected as your delusion about it being a morph?

YOU NEED TO JUST worry about wild collected Ball pythons being GARBAGE..when in fact most wild collected 6.00 babies FEED better than YOUR captive born normals for 85.00

GREAT year for Ball Pythons here with lots of Pastels hatched this season! I currently have 2 males that are going to be ready to go by September 20th, 2004 and I have 4.2 normals. Pastel males are $1,500 each. Male normals are $85 each and female normals are $150 each. All babies are guaranteed eating F/T rat fuzzies before they are even offered for sale!

**Edit Oct 12th, 2004: No more Pastels left for sale. I have 6 male normals left for $85 each. GREAT pets and you're supporting the captive-bred industry instead of wild caught garbage!

You never answered the question (READ: "cleverly" avoided for obvious reasons). Did you get all huffy because people didn't tell you it was what you blindly THINK that "diamond-nose" is? Or did you throw a fit because people told you what they really thought and you didn't like that, even though that is EXACTLY what you asked? Remember the part where you said "Opinions please"? Yeah well, you got them, so why be all childish. No one but you thinks its a morph. Why not move on and prove us wrong rather than trying to convince us. Because let me tell you, that ain't going to happen unless you hatch a bunch more out with tiny spots on the nose vaguely resembling a shape like a diamond.

I NEVER said it was a MORPH or that it WOULD produce any MORPHs, GO back and READ...If you know how....I have always stated that it is NOT an PLAIN OLE NORMAL and that is what YOU and like 2 others called it....Everyone else said that it was a nice/cool looking ball.....I could care less about this argument...BUT the FACT is NORMALS DON'T LOOK like this snake AT ALL. HOW many of the 100,000 baby balls have you seen that have a DIAMOND on the tip of the NOSE., Well this is the first one I have seen(not to say it will reproduce itself) but it is still NOT NORMAL for ball pythons to have this marking....thus making it NOT A NORMAL...LOL.... With that said Since I have THE ONLY DIAMOND NOSE....Maybe I should ask say 150K because it is the only ONE, and the White snakes are 100k and we have plenty of them now....LOL.... I think JEFF is the one UPSET because he thinks Imported 6.00 balls are cutting into his 85.00 captive born males....LOL....Thus the reason he calls them GARBAGE....TRUE ar FALSE? JEFF....

who don't see the 'Diamond Nose' as anything more than a normal.

The Barkers' SpotNose BPs are genetic, yes. They also have more defining characteristics than a barely discernible 'diamond shape' on their nose. Their bright colours rival some pastels. They have yellow-green eyes. Their head pattern is near that of a spider.

If you aren't saying it's a morph than why even call it a 'Diamond Nose Ringer'??? Why not just call it a normal ball with a slight anamoly on its nose?? Had you gone with the latter phrase, the post probably wouldn't plss so many people off.

Like Jeff said, you asked for opinions.

Maybe next time you should label the thread : "NORMAL BALL with SLIGHT ANAMOLY on NOSE. Looking for FAVOURABLE OPINIONS identical to MY OWN, or for those with different opinions to blow smoke up MY @ss." ------ see, it has a nice ring to it.

And you could caps lock every word like you do for emphasis/yelling. Which is it? Are you emphasizing particular words or simply getting angry as the opinions different than your own get posted?? Hmmm

Please don't take this the wrong way. I'm not about to bash you or anything. I just wanted to say that even though I believe most of the unusual snakes you post are completely and totally normal and will probably never prove out as genetically inheritable...I always look forward to seeing the photos. You have quite an impressive collection of odd animals. There have been several times that I saw one of your photos and wished I could own such a beautiful creature. =)

Very nice looking ball you have. I see where this could be something, maybe not worth fooling with, but never the less a nice little snake. It reminds me of the Sutherlands Spot nose balls. They seem to be way up in price. Could this be the same type of morph, just not as extreme? Probably not. With the ringer section and clear belly who knows. Breed it and find out.

Looks quite similar to my very pretty unusual (but normal) female I have. Just curious...are those scar scales about 1/3 up from the tail, or does he have a spot or two of light scales?

Anyway, this is my girl Peachy on a full belly last Sunday. She's come a long way from the skinny drab-scaled pet store find back in the fall!

No scars, What you see is the light faded pattern of a slight ringer,I use the word slight ringer because it really has NO white near the belly but it does have the mixed up pattern around 2-3 inches from the anal plate. Thanks DAVID
