Rich G.cascabel Jan 19, 2005 03:38 PM

Attended the Biology of the rattlesnakes symposium this past Sat-Tues. in Loma Linda Cal. Was a great time with a lot of great information presented. I also really enjoyed seeing old friends, making new, and being able to put a couple faces to the names on this forum. While en-route on Sat we made a quick stop in Riverside to see if any rubers were basking as the weather was exceptional. About five minutes up the hill I saw this...

we also went out on Monday for a bit and I saw one more ruber but was unable to get a pic as she dissappeared into a crevice before I could get my camera ready. I know a few other people found some rubers and a couple of boas on Monday and Tues.

Rich, it was great meeting you in person at the symposium. Great shots! I, too, had a chance to sneak away (arrived early on Saturday) and saw a ruber in an area that looks very similar to your's (probably nearby); wish I could have spent more time in the field. But, it was a great time and hopefully, someone will continue to offer this symposium every now and then.

would be to hold a symposium on the latest techniques, research, etc. in treating snakebite. Also, we've discussed holding training seminars for Animal control, zoos(yes even zoos are realizing that there is a shortage of keepers properly trained for hots) and EMT's. We've discussed holding it in Central PA but upstate NY is a possibility.
