I think you should get rid of all your animals that you can't keep properly. In college, you've got the option to live in a place that doesn't allow the animals you have or you have the option to live in a place that does. If you want to keep your animals, seek out one of those places that does. I kept snakes in college, but it was in off-campus apartments where the apartment complex had NO problem w/ me having them. To be fair to your animals, that's the only fair (and logical) solution.
And if I were you, I certainly wouldn't be looking to purchase an animal, just so I can give it away to a breeder who probably doesn't want it and you'll have a harder time doing that than you think anyway - can you say "quarantine"?! Breeders have better things to do w/ the space at their facility than house your normal boa or whatever at their own expense so they can breed it a few years down the road! Not to be rude, but you need to screw your head on straight and think with something other than your impulses.
I don't intend to sound like I'm mean or angry, but you are obviously not thinking about your animals best interest, only in satisfying your desire to have another animal.

I am in college and have 3 snakes...1.0 Central American Boa, 1.0 Dumeril's, and 0.1 Ball Python. I waited till i was living in off campus housing to make sure that i house them correctly. They take up all the space in my room (they are housed in properly sized units), but they come first....and they rarely spend all day in their tanks (unless shedding, just fed, etc). Think about the animals man...they are important.

I agree with Johnathan...wait until your ready to keep the snake for its entire life. And John's right, the breeders will not want to buy even if you think its the best looking Boa ever!

You should stop owning animals.

VERY sincerely, Chris Olson

P.S. I hope I have never sold you anything alive......

Steve and I are both in college and he works full time as he is finishing his Masters degree (graduating in May the both of us! Point of pride, we worked very hard to get where we are) There are choices that Steve and I made when we started owning animals that we would care for the animals for the extend of their life’s. Steve and I both live off campus and commute to school. (Steve drives 40 minutes north and I drive 1 hour and 20 minutes south) These are the sacrifices that Steve and I have made to live off campus and own these animals. You CAN NOT hide the animal under your bed and hope that no one sees it... That is not smart. You need to think about the animal. Once you have an animal in your possession they are unable to survive without you and THAT is a HUGE responsibility. I will be attending Veterinary School in fall and I know the responsibilities that i have and wouldn’t place my animals in a situation that i felt Steve and I would be unable to give proper care to my animals. I wish you good luck with your Bachelors and then with Vet school (if you still choose that route) but if you aren’t ready for the responsibility of another life then you should wait until later to own an animals and give it proper care and nourishment.

Good Luck with School,
Keep your priorities in order and know you have a long life to have pets....

Sincerely,
Rose Hipskind
