Haitian Giant (A. Ricordii)

BlazedBetty Jan 19, 2005 05:49 PM

So I've finally found a page with info. on almost all the known species of Anoles, and although I was told he is a Haitian Giant (A. Rrcordii), I'm not too sure. He doesn't have a crest and no spotting. He looks somewhat like a Cuban Green (A. porcatus), because right now he just looks like a really big Green (A. carolinensis). He fits the description of the Peurto Rican Giant (A. cuvieri) perfectly, but I can't find a pic of one. He's about 7 in. right now and is a really bright green, a yellowish green, and his dewlap is yellow. He's vary timid and aggresive. Can anyone help?
(I don't know how to post pics in the forum, so I'll post one in the Anole gallery)

It's most probably an Anolis c. coeletinus, a green Haitan anole, which is sold as ricordii. I noticed the were available at this name.

Thanks..I have managed to find only one photo of this anole, and it looks exactly like him, especially the white line that runs from the corners of his mouth to just beyond his armpits. I have not been able to find any other information on these anoles, or pictures. Do you by any chance know of any? Or know of any specific care requirements? Right now he's in a temporary 20 gallon and kept in the same conditions as my green anoles, but I'm making him a natural planted vivarium and would like to know if this a species that spends it's time up in the foilage, or if it's one of those that is usually found near the thick crown and trunk of the trees? And any thing else you may know.
Any information would be greatly appreciated.
