These are the before and after photos over the last few weeks of my Savanna's 40 gal cage. For lighing she has a 100W basking light, a 100W Day glow light and a florescent light. For heat besides the lights there is a 40 gal. heating pad under the tank. I have also recently added a plywood top to the cage that sits on the screen to keep heat in, there is ventelation around the lamps.Right now for substrate she has fir bark, that will be changed shortly to cypress mulch. The ONLY thing i dont know are the exact temps. I am in the prosses of ordering a temp gun from pro exotics and have no other air temp thermometers in the house sorry. A good estimate of the ambient air temp is about 75 degrees, the basking spot is of course considerably warmer but not hot enough to burn her. Paige (the monitor) is currently 6 inches from nose to vent, 10 inches total. My dad is a carpenter so when the need comes for a larger, more permenent habitat it wont be a problem. Let me know if theres anything else you think i should do to improve the cage.
