Jumping and trying to get out! What to do??

ejaquish Jan 19, 2005 07:26 PM

I got my two collared's last friday and some of the time they run and jump to try to get out. THey also scratch at the glass a bunch. They are C.B's, and i have heard that most wild's try to do this. Should I worry about anything? Does anyone have advice?? Will they get used to the tank?

I think the behavior will improve over time. Mine are cb and they do that occasionally, too. Usually they do it when they're startled by something like my hand in the cage. As long as they have enough room to run around and their surroundings are as low-stress as possible, then they should be fine.

Yeah they are in a tank that is about 75 gallons. 48x22x18. So i dont think that the size is the problem. Thanks for the advice.

they probably are still feeling some stress from the move. are they in a high traffice area? are the sides and back of the tank covered? if they only have to worry about movement from the front they usually calm down a little more.
