Wasn't there an ad somewhere in one of the recent Reptile Magazine issues about a lime-scented mite-b-gone kinda spray? Was that Reptile Reflief?

They compliment each other. Get them both.

don't get mites. Be careful of where you are getting animals from......and always quarantine if you have doubts........for at least 6 months. 30 days?.......doesn't cut it in my book.......neither doesn 90 days. If you have mites and must use something, use the NIX brand lice treatment in the aerosal can........exact same as the $20 mite stuff......but for about $6 at your local drug store.......EXACT SAME. Have fun.

I dont have mites i do notice the occasional tick though i got my taxes back and instead of investing in more bp's i want to invest in some husbandry equipment and i figured that is a great thing to have on hand just in case. are mites the only reason why you quarantine for more than 90 days, i quarantine for 90 days or more depending on the animal

I don't quarantine just for ticks and mites. I quarantine for all reasons healthy to my entire collection. I don't want any animal coming in contact, directly or indirectly, with something out of my control. Unless it's an animal I know, I don't want to take any chances. The last snake I quarantined was a sub-adult chondro and he was alone for 8 months before he even saw a permanent enclosure.....much less being introduced into another enclosure. The one previous to that was a biak type chondro that was also in quarantine for 6 months. In my opinion, it takes at least that long to get to know the animals and to know whether or not there is any risk involved. I've heard too many horror stories and would hate to lose any snake, much less 100 snakes......it can happen.

I've had great luck with BlackK, which unfortunately doesn't
seem to be available anymore. How safe is the lice spray
you mention? I've been looking for a replacement (...even
though I've still got a couple cans of BK...).
