Mourning Gecko egg incubating questions

ReptileStu Jan 19, 2005 08:40 PM

I have 1 mourning gecko that I purchased at a show in WA. It laid two nice eggs and yet they haven't yet hatched. All of the info that I've found says that they hatch in I believe 60 days at a min. temp. of 70 degrees. Well they have been kept at temps. fluctuating from 72-78/80 tops and it has been around 75 days(the exact date they were laid got thrown out with last years calender). The eggs still look viable, no signs of discoloration or such. Anything to worry about? There didn't seem to be a wealth of data on this species, except for the different clone varieties.

Thanks
Stu

Never mind...no sooner had I finished typing and they hatched out. I left to pick up my daughter and came home... there they were!!

My female is gravid, and she should be laying anytime.

Hello, So I've been offering the new hatches small/pinhead size crickets and organic baby food mixed with calcium. I have not noticed any of the crickets missing and/or the lizards eating the baby food. Any ideas if I'm prviding them with adequate food? I have wingless fruitflys available to me if need be. They are so darn cute! I've hatched leopards, fat-tails and numerous snakes but man these are cute.

Thanks
Stu
