we have a 40 gal. tank set up w/2 levels.The top level has 3 hides and water and the bottom has 3 hides and food and water and a ramp.My problem is one of our geckos decided to poop under the large hide on the bottom level! This means everyday I have to dismantle the entire cage to clean the poop.Is there any way to "teach" or "encourage" the gecko to pick a different area???

ive heard of people putting a piece of poop in one spot that the gecko will start pooping there. it didnt work for me but my gecko dosent even poop in one spot he/she just goes wherever he/she feels like. by the way does anyone else konw if maybe there is something wrong with my gecko cause of that? i dont really think so i think its probably just maybe"testing" different spots but is there anyway to make him/her poop in one spot. thanks.

You can take a stool and set in the place you want them to go and it usually converts them to poop in that place. Hope this helps.

couldnt you just move the hide? he will most likely continue pooping in the same spot, the hide just wont be there anymore.

I have a juvie that likes to poop on top of his hide. He wont go anywhere else. I had to buy an extra hide to swap them out when cleaning the tanks. But tonight I will try to move his poop to a better spot.
