Need help with how to wire flex watt for every shelf.

gone_balls_crazy Jan 19, 2005 11:41 PM

I have a rack built from melamine that holds 10 tubs. I have been using one long piece running down the back. The temps are varying to much from one tub to another and I prefer belly heat anyways. So, I am looking for help on how to wire a piece of flex watt for every shelf off of one thermostat. Thanks in advance for all your help!

Hey,

I just wired 13 tanks together. It is very easy. I soldered all of mine, you can use the clips. I don't think they are as good, but good enough. Use cheap 16 guage extension cord. cut the socket end off. Run the cord from the thermostat to one end of your heat strip. Go to the other side of the heat strip with another piece of extension cord. and so on and so on. Use aluminum foil tape from Lowes or Home depot. I wouldn't buy it by the foot from people selling it. Anymore ? let me know. It is very easy. Once you do it you'll be very happy.
