I have newly hatched tadpoles (inside a week). Can I put them in a tank with 2 inches of water in it? I have 3 of these guys with more to come. I was thinking about setting up a 10 gallen tank with a small sponge filter. Thoughts? sugg?

Thanks!

The 10 gallon with a couple of inches of water sounds good. Not sure on the filter, I just use a airstone with a trickle of bubbles coming out.I put some small gravel around the airstone. I also add oak leaves, a couple small plants, such as pothos or creeping fig.

Thanks...well the filter I speak of is connected to an air pump...it bubbles..I also added a couple of floating aquatic plants to the tank.

Myself I seperate my tads because there are several species that are canabolistic (how ever you spell it). I just simply keep them in mason jars and keep them in clean clear rainwater. once they get their front legs I put them in a froglet tank with a slope in the land so they can climb out of the water and up on to the land area when they are ready. This has worked great so far. Just my 2 cents.

i have problem to put all tadpoles in one tank.i think it's better to put them in their own cup of water.if one tadpole caught something so it won't give it to the other tadpoles.

We keep all of ours in seperate 16 oz. clear deli cups. We did at one point keep them in communities, however, we were losing too many. This way if one gets sick then you don't need to worry about the others. Another thing we've noticed is that you need to start off with just enough water to cover the tads and gradually work up to deeper water. Melissa takes care of the tads so I'm not sure how long before they are in 2 inches of water but I do know it needs to be done gradually.
