Maintaining temp for Giant Day?

dragunzfyre Jan 20, 2005 12:43 AM

I just moved into my new house a couple months ago, and i've decided to put my giant day gecko in my computer room. The problem is that the computer room generally stays about 10 degrees cooler than the rest of the house b/c the previous owners didn't do a great job with insulation between the garage and the computer room. If i keep around a 50 watt bulb in addition to my UV light, would that maintain a high enough temperature? Any help would be appreciated.

It's hard to say. You would have to try it and use a temp gun to check the temperature of all the areas in the cage several times a day. Make sure the basking spot is at least 95 degrees and the gradient ranges to about 75ish at the lowest.
