So the albino male bull snake I picked up a month back stopped eating about 2 weeks ago.
He ate 3 meals, regurged one, I gave him 10 days, fed him again, he never regurged that meal and ate one more before he quit.
I thought I noticed an odd swelling in his belly, but when I picked him up, it went away. I think it was just him making himself look bigger to get me to leave him alone.
Today, I checked on him so I could tube him some nutrients, and I noticed he's "swollen" again, and very squishy where the puffy part is. The swelling is very slight and hard to see.
When I hold him up to the light, I see a long, dark, cylindrical shaped object that I am guessing is either his right lung or his liver. Could be his stomach, hard to tell. He gurgles, as if he is full of air. When I run my fingers down his stomach area, a bubble of air/liquid forms underneath my finger, and he seems really thin.
He's just a baby, and from a reliable breeder. Could he be a FTT (Failure-to-thrive)? His sister, who I also have, is twice his size and the same age.
The breeder is willing to give me a credit towards another snake, so I'm not worried about that. Right now I'd like to find out if anyone else has seen this.
He is still moving about, pushing things around in his temp. enclosure. I went ahead and tubed him a little chicken baby food to at least get some nutrients in him.
