Going to Illinois...what should I expect?

I am leaving May 05, 2005 and will be searching the field from May 5 - May 8. We are going to lawrencville, which is in the southeast part of the state. We will be right next to the Wabash River and the Embarass(Sp?) River. Does anyone know what types of snakes inhabit this area?
