I just got some beige tan shelfliner (non adhesive) and it is about 1/16 or more inch thick. It's a little spongy and has kind of a zig zag pattern on the front.
Is this the right stuff and is it ok? Do I need to wash it first or anything?
Thanks

I've only ever read that it has to be the non-adhesive kind pattern is your preference and I wash everything before it goes into the cage
I use the "Duck" brand non-adhesive. Make sure you use the one that DOES NOT have holes in it.
I unroll and wash it before I put it in--sometimes it can have a slight odor--after I wash/dry it the odor is gone. It is a good idea to cut at least 2 full sized pieces. When one gets dirty you will always have a clean one ready. I spot clean it daily--messes clean up very quickly. Both of my BD's have good traction on it and crickets have a hard time getting under it.

I just changed from sand to shelfliner (Duck brand) and I love it! Not sure what took me so long.

I use the contact paper. Why should I not use it? Because of the fumes? I just put it in last week, and have not had a problem yet. Just curious as to why not contact?
