We need a "subforum" for native US milksnakes

ErikH Jan 20, 2005 06:53 PM

Does anyone besides me ever get tired of sifting through hundreds of honduran, sinaloan and pueblan posts to find a post about their favorite US subspecies?I'd like to see more posts about syspila, temporalis, multistriata, celeanops, etc. Here is a L.t.amaura I used to have.

This is my female Anulatta that I collected on Jan. 1 in a firewood pile in Jim Wells Co. TX. Amazingly, we had about 6 inches of snow down here in South Texas on Christmas Eve and Day. A few days later it was 80 degrees and this female was found. She has already shed once for me and has eaten 6 fuzzy mice.
Very nice find IMHO.

Isn't she looking great? Can't wait to find a mate for her this year.

John, that's amazing to find one of those in January. That's a great looking snake too. Are you going to keep it until I get there in June, so I can see it up close? Looks like I might be able to come the last week of June.

Terry I am keeping it in hopes of finding a locale mate for her. The last week in June sounds great as of now. I have a local herper friend of mine, Todd Hughes, that would love to come along too. He has way more luck than I so it would be a good thing.
