I bought these two girls from a little mom and pop petstore. They have these weird stripes on thier backs, what do you make of them?

You've gotta be kidding.

i definately agree on the price. i saw an almost identical 1.1 pair in the classifieds. sold in 1 day. 400 bucks. also the lines weren't quite that perfect. definately keepers! you can make a good deal of money off those!
if i were you i'd try to get an awesome red/orange male to breed to those and see what you get! i've always wanted to see a red/orange with pinstripes.

Yes, I am joking. I have been waiting a long time to find some full pinstripes so when these came up I couldn't resist. They are amazing animals to me. What I find very interesting is that the scales that are pinstriped are quite raised like a little crocodile. Can you tell me anything about the genetics of these?

Thought so. Nobody accidentally produces full pins.

From Philippe, right?

man you get so lucky. somebody obviously didnt know what they had, assuming you picked both of them up at a mom and pop type store you must have got a good deal, those are awesome crested geckos!

DerekMoynihan Jan 21, 2005 06:24 PM

I was joking about the mom and pop pet store thing. I picked these up from a fellow gecko fan for a pretty penny.
