Since my two adults Gumby and Alexandra came out of brumation, they seem to have failed to regain their interest in crickets. Both of them used to chase down crickets with great vigor, but now when I drop some crickets in, the lizards just look at them half-interested and go back to whatever they were doing. I've seen each of them eat one or two since they woke up a couple weeks ago.
I know they're not full: if I drop in some waxworms, BAM, they're both there in an instant munching away. But I'm nervous about feeding them an all-worm diet. (I dust both the worms and crickets, of course.)
My youngster Flora, who didn't brumate, continues to devour crickets at an amazing rate, even the full-size ones I bought for her adult roommates. I'm not sure how so many crickets fit into such a small lizard.
Will Gumby and Alexandra wake up one day and decide it's cricket time again? Is it a sign they're not getting something they need? I put in a fresh UVB bulb when I woke them up, so it's not that, anyway.
