obsoleta eggs aren't they? Seven nice looking eggs from a Northern Pine is an excellent start. The babies should come out like the pic of an '01 hatchling I'm attaching. They practically eat fuzzies right of the egg. Watch out Dwight because pituophis can be addicting. Good luck

Hey Terry,
That is one of the best looking Pines I have seen...The pattern is so clear and defined. I was in high hopes of breeding my Pines next year or maybe the year after...But that will be put on hold for a while...I have had my Pines just over a month and found out yesterday that they are both males...I don't know after a month if the people I bought them from will exchange one or not...They should because they sold the to me as a breeding pair...But I may have to find someone who will to trade a female for my male...But anyway looks like you have great looking Pines...

It's only been a month and you find out you have two males instead of 1.1. I'm assuming when you pick up yearlings that the person doesn't have any others available. Let's see what the person you got the Northerns from says or handles this situation. They should make it good one way or the other. Then, depending on what you would like to do, we can go from there. I'm sure you've become attached to the snakes you have, so you may want to keep one. Go to our website at www.kernreptile.com and shoot my ole buudy and pal Del Alspaw an email and I'm sure he'd love to make everyone happy. He's got Northern eggs cooking and all sorts of stuff going on with them. Remember it is always important to check the sex yourself or get it checked as soon as snakes arrive so the person or people who sold it to you have an opportunity to resolc it right away. That's a nice looking Norhtern and I'm sure we can help get you going and benefit someone else. Shoot Del an email and tell him I volunteered him for this. LOL. My email addy is
parks38@juno.com if you want to send me one.

Well I like my Northern Pines but I doubt I'll add other pits to my collection in the near future. Heck, two pairs of adults are all I need to keep those Jumbo rats from stockpiling in the freezer. You know, the size rats that my adult obsoleta can't handle. lol. My Canebrake can eat the bigger rats, but I feel like that if I feed her more than once a month she will get so fat she can't move.

As I mentioned, the pines do a great job when it comes to keeping my freezer free of jumbo rats so I guess I'll have to keep them around, hehe.

large rats. I mentioned the babies come out of the egg eating small fuzzies. Bullsnakes can do the same. The only pituophis at my place is a male whtie bull and a female hypo. The white bull can eat everything. Oh! My spilotes are great feeders too. Where's a pic of the canebrake? My partner Del was a hot keeper for years. He'd get all excited seeing a pic of a canebrake. So would I actually.

Can't wait to see the contents inside after a couple of months.

We missed you at the show yesterday. Several vendors donated some nice dry goods to the auction tonight.

On another positive note, the striped corn was raffled off to a very enthusiastic gentleman who has experience with herps. His son was very excited as well, so the herp torch has been passed again to the next generation!

The rack will be a big hit next month with all the little guys popping out of the eggs!

Hang in there,

Neil

Well done. Next month I will be donating a nice, healthy, FEEDING ch 03 baby ball python for you guys to raffle off.

Do you know how much the rack has taken in so far? Hopefully the KHS will get at $150-200!!

Hopefully tonight's auction with Joseph Collins will be a success!!

those eggs. I'm hopefully getting a few Northerns this year and will some day have a few eggs to take pics of! Congrats again and best of luck with them.
