what size enclosure is good for a sonoran gopher...

janome Jan 21, 2005 06:15 AM

My baby albino sonoran gopher is currently in a 10 gallon size tank (it has short sides) and I think he wants a bigger house now. He was hatched in July 2004 so is 6 months old and as long as a persons arm. I would like to get what ever size he will need as an adult. Thanks
p.s. i posted on the sub forum and got no response...

In terms of an aquarium, an adult will require a 30 gallon, or a container roughly 35x16x8.

Think big. Pits require more room than other colubrids. Try for something with about 6 foot of floor splace. I use 45 gallon aquariums and 3 foot Boaphiles myself. Tom Stevens
