Radiant heat panels vs flexwatt

flavor Jan 21, 2005 09:36 AM

Does anyone have experience using the Pro Product radiant heat with BRBs? I have always used flexwatt on a microclimate to heat the underside of the cage and this has worked well. But, I'm redoing my cages and I'd like to incorporate a design that will accommodate Green Tree Pythons as well as BRBs (not housed together). I'm concerned that in a 2 ft tall by 38" long cage, raidant heat from above won't do the job for the Brazilians. Maybe this is most appropriate for the cage design forum but I like your opinions so I wanted to run it by you as well. Thanks for any info,

Mike

Mike,
I would go with what you know already works with your BRB, the flexwatt or UTH.
As for the other Green Tree Python, I don't know too much about their husbandry, but since they are an arboreal species it would seem inherent that and UTH or flexwatt wouldn't work too good since they spend most of their time on a branch, hence the heat panel might be better.
Good luck,
Uncloudy
