Dumerils post ovulation shed

Do dumerils have a post ovulation shed? If so how many days before she drops after the shed?

Well, I'm sort of hesitant to even reply to this. I've noted shed dates before giving a generalized basis on when the female should drop(pre-"lay" shed so to speak) and people seem more interested in scrutinizing the info than paying attention to it. Anyway, I stated they GENERALLY shed within a week or so of delivering. It is NOT a rule, just a generality. I've also had them shed a day or two after giving birth, it's just something else to look for since dumerils breeding info is crap for the most part. The Reptiles article was crap in my opinion. Anyway, I grabbed two cards real quick for you from females that dropped last year. One female, I noted ovulation on 3-8 and noted she shed 3-26. She then shed 7-21, took a med. rat on 7-30 and dropped babies on 8-8, and shed once again 8-20. On the other card, I noted ovulation as 3-10, shed on 3-29, noted another shed just dated 7-04, not sure why I have no day, sorry, and dropped on 7-28. With just these two cards(it's late I'm being lazy), it would seem they shed approx. 20 days after ovulation, and drop approximately 4 months after the POS. Also, as I've stated before, they tend to shed just prior to delivering. I usually use the "pre-birth" shed just as a sign to be ready for babies soon, but again, it's just what seems to be the average for me, and it isn't an ALWAYS thing. I hope this helps you out a little bit. I also notice them laying inverted around the time ovulation occurs. Take care!

I stopped keeping records years ago because I couldnt find any consitancy at all. IMO its more temp and indivdual female related then anything. I got one female here that like clock workl will deliver 7 days after then second shed. Then some other that will shed prior a few days or deliver while in shed. No consitancy.
