clay pellets?????

Hi i'm using small rounded clay pellets submerged in water with moss on top for a substrate in a tank,anyone know if this 100 percent safe?thanks

is that live or dried moss? if its dried, i would advise to keep a close eye on it and keep it very well ventilated, for i have noticed that the dried moss tends to grow mold rather quickly when kept cool and moist. and of course, mold is a bad thing.

about the pellets.. just make sure the pellets are unscented ( like.... don't use cat litter or anything like that.) and make sure to keep plenty of stuff on top of the clay pellets so the geckos don't get down there. i would imagine it would be almost certain death if many of the pellets were some how ingested. keep plenty of cover on top of the pellets and you should be fine.

I have clay pellets in my setup about 2" deep then fiberglass window screen, the soft plasic type, and finally a bromeliad soil mix with moss and plants. There has been no issuses with my satanics and the screen keep everything and everyone seperated.
