Your best bet in a situation like yours, is to keep your sorn in an appropriately sized plastic container with a locking lid (like tupperware).

You can drill holes big enough to allow air circulation, but small enough to keep the snake in.

You can also get a container that is nearly see through, so you can stell see your snake, though not as clearly as through a glass tank.

In my opinion, the plastic container is the safest, most reliable, easiest, and cheapest "tank" a corn owner can have. I think you'll like it!

Good luck....

Plastic is great. An alternative to drilling is, of course, using a soldering iron or woodburner. It goes really quick and easy, but you need to be well-ventilated (I always take mine out on the porch).

If you really want to use your aquarium...Is it one of the ones with a "lip" or "rim" around the inside top that you could fit an exact-cut piece of plywood or other material into? I have seen this setup before and it should work well weighed down with books or bricks. Duffy

yes there is a "lip" there. there is a cover for it, but the cover have 2 large holes at the side of it so the snake would come out, even if there isnt the holes, the snake would still be able to push his way out as the cover is just a very light one placing it above. where can i get wood pieces from?

You can build a tight fitting wooden frame around the lid. Then place 1*4's going across the top of it. They should be level with the frame. Then staple with a staple gun or nail on screening or heavy duty mesh across that.

P.S. Frame and l*4's should be screwed or nailed together
