Laminating shed skin?

pebbles832 Jan 21, 2005 12:17 PM

Hey everyone, I wanted to ask a quick question. I already read the posts concerning snake shed preservation, but I have a specific question about lamination. I know one person said they do the home version-putting the skin between two sheets of the laminating stuff and ironing, but can I take the skin to a school supply store and stick it thru their machine? Do you think it would be too hot? Is not, where can I get the laminating stuff to do it at home myself? Any suggestions would be appreciated!
Thanks!
Susan

I have uses those small laminating machines (not for shed skins) and I suspect it might be a great idea. You could probably pick a small one up at an office supply store. Duffy

Hi--
Yes, I've done it at home with the iron. I purchase the film at an office supply store. I tried using the (big) laminator at work, but found that I didn't have enough control. The rollers on the machine folded and creased the shed in a strange way. By doing it with an iron, I can smooth and adjust before and as I press and seal.

regards,
althea
