Breeding Rainbows...

TJ. Jan 21, 2005 01:36 PM

My pair of BRB's are ready for their first date! Last night the female shed and I put the skin in with the male. He perked right up and began sniffing the shed with great interest. I was gonna introduce them this evening, because we are currently undergoing a major weather event here in Minnesota! (Finally, our first blizzard of the season with a nice big drop in barometric pressure. This trick always works with Honduran Milk Snakes) Question is: Do I put the male in with the female or should I put her in with him into his bachelor pad? This my first attempt at breeding Rainbows. Any helpful hints? Thanks! TJ.

I've always heard that you put the male in with the female because the male will become territorial if the female is put in his enclosure.

Jon,
...Where was that PIC taken? It looks familiar.

I took it on a pull off driving through the Smoky Mnts NP. My most favorite place in the world. I have a few more in the Kingsnake gallery.

Jon,
...I thought so. Observation tower at Clingman's dome in the second PIC. One of my favorite places too. We spend a week hiking there every summer.

TJ,
...Like Jon says, I would put the male in with the female. Did you introduce them yet? What happened?
Good luck,
Jeff
