Has Any one had a male not want to breed?

i have a 2 yr old Patternless that will not breed. i put a female that started developing eggs already and he just shoke his tail like a rattler and licked her thats it. and i put her with my other male which is 4 years old Hi Yellow male and he bred her right away

I think some are just more in love than others
They do each have a personality and some just get along better than others. The paternless would have eventually done it, he just took longer to get the green light.
