Should i put supplement on his fruit and vegies?

Tor038505 Jan 21, 2005 07:00 PM

I've had my cham since late december and i haven't put anything on his food except for NutriGrow Growth Formula Iguana Diet. I don't know if this is sufficient for a growing iguana. He's 5 inches from head to back feet, 16 with tail.

supplementation is suggested for growing igs once or twice a week

just make sure whatever you're putting on it has low phosphorous, high calcium and absolutely no animal proteins... you'd be surprised at how many vitamins out there for iguana's actually have animal protein in them.

I dust Olivia's with vitamins about once a week...usually the weekend... look at how pretty and green she is

You can actually find supplements that are pretty much straight calcium carbonate. This is ideal because they get no phosphorous. If you prefer the DIY method you can buy cuttle bone (very cheap, located in the bird section of the pet store) and grind some fine cuttlebone dust onto your igs food.

Those ingredients dont sound to great, it seems to be mostly made out of corn which is pretty useless for all animals.

I would stil be supplementing as it is important for all tiles.
