The Rash of "New" Anti-Herp Legislation >>

chris_mcmartin Jan 21, 2005 07:29 PM

Not having done a side-by-side comparison of all the new proposed legislation (sporadic internet access for the time being), can someone tell me if these proposed bans are word-for-word among the various states, or ban the exact same species and types of animals?

I'm just wondering if this latest round is a systematic push by PeTA/HSUS as earlier attempts have been alleged to be.

In all honesty most likely alot of these issues are being pushed by peta and hsus. There are a small number of laws being pushed in individual counties by people that have heard of a crocodilian or large constrictor of some sort getting loose in a neighborhood and causing a pandemonium. It is sad that the public has so little knowledge of our beloved animals, and they seem to hate them and fear them so much.
Our days of owning these animals are #'d. We need to prepare ourselves and try to find a way to come to an agreement that can be met on both sides. Unfortunately ever time this is mentioned, everyone turns their heads. These same people that turn their heads will be the same people complaining in the future about how they can't own their animals. If more people were tostand up for their rights, goals could be achieved.

This is just my opinion.
