I was given a 66%het green ghost male and I'm wondering about if it would be a dominant/co-dominant ora recessive trait. also If bred to a normal female how many succesive breedings would it take to finaly get a green ghost. thanks in advance.

If you look at an animal and its phenotype (appearance) looks different (in the context of not a normal ball python)then it's either normal or het. If it looks "different" then it's either a homozygous (pure), co-dom or dom.
Hope this helps!
I believe that green ghost is just like the other ghosts so far - recessive. All the different types of genetic ghost may well all be compatible with each other and differ only by the other genes that make normals different colors or there could actually be some differences in actual ghost genes in different lines.
If your 66% chance het hits his chance and really is a het then some of his daughters will be hets (about 50% of them) and you could produce a ghost in the 2nd generation. If your possible het ghost male turns out to be the 33% that aren't hets then you will never produce ghosts with him.
Your male is only 66% possible to be het for Ghost. It may never produce a Ghost. The snake either carries the gene or it does not. You have a 66% chance that it does. I would recommend getting a 100% het female, or Ghost female to prove your male out. If your male does not carry the ghost gene, then breeding with a normal female will only produce normal offspring. If your male is het for Ghost, when bred to a normale female, you would produce a clutch which is 50% normal and 50% would be 100% for Ghost. The trick is to breed the 100% hets together or back to the father.
Good Luck with your project

thanks for the info. I was given the male by a friend who had a whole clutch of males no females. I already have a normal female and I am looking for a 100% het but for now I'll just let him grow a bit.
thanks again.
You will find that female ghost lines are much more expensive than males (you will probably not get a free female 66% chance het). If you spent $2400 for a female ghost you wouldn't want to breed it to your free 66% chance het male, you would want to at least spend $125 for a for sure het male and know that you had a chance for ghost if not $1200 for a ghost male so as to get all ghosts.
