Question about waterfall for 10 gal tank

mattleerocks Jan 22, 2005 02:02 AM

I bought an exo terra waterfall for my crested gecko in a 10 gallon tank with a screen mesh cover and the chord is exiting the tank from the top, squeezing between the edge of the tank and the screen wire mesh cover. I'm wondering how I can get around this setup because there is a 1/8th inch opening in the corner. Are there any covers that include openings for chords???

Can you cut a small hole in the screen?

I was thinking about that but I realized that the hole had to be big enough to fit the electrical plug so it wouldn't be small. I'm thinking about grinding the metal edge of the screen to allow the chord to run through the side. What do you think?

btw, thanks for the reply. My crested gecko is the first lizard I've had since I was 12 so its been awhile since I've taken care of something like this

what kind of " chord" are we talking about? a musical chord, or an electrical cord?

....
if it is a thin metal rim tin snips would probably do the trick, cut two little notches and grab onto the space with some pliers, bend it back and forth until it breaks off and then file it down until smooth.
