Does anyone have any opinions/experience with this? Does it actually raise the humidity some or is it just for effect?

its ok for tanks and stuff but since chams have screen cages it doesn't do much but take up space.
In a tank for anoles or other tropical reptiles(not chams) it can help but i find it is better to just use a normal humidifier or ultrasonic mister to raise the humidity.
It ends up being more for effect. Try a misting system or humidifier.
I got the HABBA mister, I just haven't unpacked it yet. Is that any good? My arm is breaking from all this hand misting. I just ran a hot shower full blast with the bathroom door open for about an hour just to get the humidity in my apartment up. I didn't realize how difficult it would be to keep it humid. I'm in one of those infamous dry nyc apartments. It's a little better at nighttime, because the basking spot is off, but when it's on, the water really evaporates quickly.
The habba mister is useless
if you havent unpacked it yet dont
Take it back and get your moneyback
Spend a little extra and get a real mister they are worth it

Thanks for the heads up, I'll take it back. Could you recommend a good mister? I have a Jackson's so the humidity has to be HIGH, it has to be a powerful one. I had a feeling the habba was junk, that was why I haven't used it yet.
Don't go for that volcano, I hated it. I've tried those already made waterfalls and the volcano, they both require extremely too much cleaning as they get clogged alot from dead crickets and just overall gunk.
I use a misty mate tropical mister, it's green, has a pump(for pressure) and a long tube that is flexible.. It raises my humidity pretty well and is very easy to use.. It can be a pain to get the top off with all the pressure tho. I just let it all out first. It's fun to watch my friends struggle with the top with all the pressure build up, gives me a laugh or two.
I also keep a custom waterfall in my chams cage, or did.

I use one of those home depot canister sprayers (the kind you get for spraying chemicals in gardens). You fill it up, punp it a few times and press the trigger. No repetitive squeezing of the trigger, no hand fatigue. It holds 2 gals and can even be modified with a timer to be automatic (search the forum).
here is a link to one:

If that doesnt work, search homedepot.com or lowes.com for keyword SPRAYER and the click the garden section for them. They have lots from 7 bucks up to 60 bucks. 2 gals may be too muchfor you so you may benefit from a 1/2 gal hand held one.

Well i use a pro mist mister its really good but expensive @ $300 shipped
When i was looking for a mister i did a little research there are some misters that cannot be run dry that are $100 cheaper than what i have And i know the way i am sometimes i would(have)
forget to fill the bucket and i didnt want to damage the pump so i paid the extra money
I have heard good things on the rainmaker also but the pump on the jr cannot be run dry I am not positive but i think the rainmakerI can be run dry
All in all you will probably pay @ $200-$300 for a decent automatic mister which can be programmed to run one to over a dozen times a day
The hand pumps work good too and a whole lot cheaper

Yes, the Rainmaker I can be run dry and the Rainmaker Jr should not be. I have the jr, and a petsitter did run it dry once, no damage. In addition to spraying, your dry air will still be tough to deal with. Rather than the Habba Mist, get a regular ultrasonic room humidifier and aim it right at the cage. Less expensive and works reall well. Cycle it on and off using a multiple setting lamp timer. It will keep the cham's cage from drying out too much in between sprayings. If the cage air is more humid the cham will not drink so desperately or so much.
Besides being incredibly ugly they are a pain to deal with. Not my idea of a natural-looking cage accessory!
