They must've sold like lightning, I didn't even see the ad and I check the classifieds at least once a day...

I guess they are getting more in April/May. I guess we got to go place the deposits for a reserved Sula! I hope they post up some pics. Nothing beats the silver, orange/golden coloration, and especially the rope-like dorsal pattern of these unique beauties! I thought I had it all when I finally bought a lavendar albino, but I was wrong. To the Sulawesi fans: Good luck on your search for this infamous, yet intriguing retic locale. Have a good weekend.

P.S. Todd I remember seeing your Sula on the forums awhile ago. What a beauty! How is she/he now? Post a pic buddy!
What about BMX python and Phil Cantore, do you guys still have your Sula's? Take care.

I saw at least two ads recently claiming to have Sulawesi retics and none of the pictures looked like Suls to me. I'm not an expert by any means, but Suls stand out pretty well. Just wondering if anyone else caught this.

Steve_Ray Jan 22, 2005 11:28 PM

If I remember right one of their ads were titled Sulawesi Retics, but had Malaysian retics in the pics, they later edited the ad and put that they were the wrong pics, and the Suls had been sold. I'm pretty sure it was something like that. I agree Sulawesi's are pretty easy to pick out.

It wasn't the Herpetological Breeding Research post. His ad clearly stated those were the wrong pics. One was by a "Predators Reptile Center" and I don't recall the other. Both ads looked like average farmed babies. I didn't grab the photo off the posts and now I wish I had. If I spot them I'll be sure to post the photos.

Yes David, I saw that ad by PRC for the 'Sulawesi' Retics as well; VERY clearly not the case !
Just to give everyone an update, I have a 2.4 group of subadult and adult animals that I am raising in hopes of producing these animals in captivity - like you said darryl, they are clearly one of if not the most beautiful retics IMO. All of the animals that I have are very calm, which should hopefully be a big plus as far as breeding goes....I will definetly post some pics of all of the animals soon for you guys.

One more female. One of the brightest heads I've ever seen ! This pic was when the animal was very young also believe it or not.

They all look great Todd. I have to agree they're by far the most stunning "normals" out there.

SpinsRetics Jan 23, 2005 01:38 PM

I'd have to agree David ! They've always been my favorite, and were what got me into retics ....
Your SD's are looking great by the way....great color and pattern on them.

IMO, if any retics need to be produced in captivity for the good of the species, it is the Sulawesis ....
