BOA EATING HABITS************

hi,
Why do boa constrictors and other large snake take about an hour to eat thier dead prey while the small snakes with live prey get through their meals in less than 10 minutes it annoys me does this happen with everyonee because my snake smell the mouse goes around it on top of it then moves away from it even when i heat it so what should i do?
