i am not a novice i have 12 healthy geckos and read everything that i can on their care. i have a ? about sexing now i know what to look for as far as the bulges below the vent and the prefemoral pores, but i have one female (i think), she has no bulges or very slight bulge, the thing that makes me ? is the pores are not as prominent as with my male but they do have small dark spots in the middle of the scales there is no waxy build up to mark territory. the real reason i started to ? her sex is when i put my males in with her they showed signs of agression tail wiggling biting etc.. i also know that these are mating behaviors i just dont want any of my geckos getting hurt. i would take a picture of piper but my camera sucks and all the pictures on the net are not clear enough to see the females pores any help would be appreciated thanks

Some leos are harder to sex than others. But you have the right idea - you might not know what sex "she" is, but the other leos sure do. Now, there's a definite difference between mating behaviour and aggression between two males. If the male rattled his tail, not waved but rattled, it makes a noise, then he thinks she's a female. She might wave her tail at him which usually means she's interested in breeding. The male will take small bites at her usually ending up with trying to bite her on the top of the head or her neck. But the key is, Small bites. He just grabs a fold of skin. And then he does this sortof jerking thing. That is mating behaviour. Agression between two males, well, there's some licking of the air to smell the other gecko, followed by a deadly lunge by one at the other's throat. There's no mistaking this for mating behaviour, especially since by the time you get them separated, there will be blood and injuries.

(takes a deep breath) so.... I think she's a female

maybe the boys can tell she's not quite a regular girl?

No, I've heard the same, but it might be that she just has a nasty attitude with other geckoes, and not you, the bringer of food.
