i have used the diet (ground turkey with vitamins) for my monitor for a while now and its great, anyone ever heard of it being used as a suplement for beardies (just like as often as id give a pinkie)?

Not a good idea. You really shouldn't give pinkies either. What's good for a monitor isn't necessarilly true for a beardie.

Pinkies, while HIGH in calcium, are hard for bearded dragons to digest because of all the bones and fur. I haven't, and will not feed a beardie a pinkie. That san diego zoo diet doesn't sound like a good idea either. I would stick with veggies, fruits, and insects
i will still give pinkies, i do it like once a month have had no problems, citon (SP?) in insects for most digestive systems is just as had to digest as bones and pinkies dont have fur (thats the "pink" part). i was thinking for more of a convienance thing, my pinkie hook up is a bit hard to reach sometimes. have you had any specific pinkie problems? or just avoiding to be safe? ive got a girl whos 15 years and still got a bunch of spunk (getting a bit thin in old age) and her favorite thing is to get her pinks. as far as fruit, my have never liked it, tried several things, they usally like the kale, and other dark greens with the occasional squash, and of course will eat crickets and mealies till they puke if id let them. Im now growing my own mealies to be sure they are the best they can be for them, id grow crickets but they are to stinky.
