parselmouth Jan 22, 2005 09:01 PM

I Have a couple questions about Nelson's Milk snake.. I've come into two babies. One female albino and one male heterozygous for albino. At what size and aprox age are they breedable? What size enclosure is suitable for a single animal or a pair.. What temp is ideal? Ive kept many other colubrids.. but never a Nelsons..Thanks alot in advance

Two years if they eat aggressively, otherwise three years should do. They should be about 30" at that point. A ten gallon tank or mid-size storage box is fine except for those that get very large, in which case you'd be better off with a bigger tank or standard sweater box tray. 78-82 should be fine, temps can drop 4-5 degrees overnight. I kept mine at a near constant 80-81 an d they did just fine. Care shouldn't be much diff from other colu7brids.
Good luck!
Terry
