Crested Gecko Diet Ideas?

Palex134 Jan 22, 2005 09:18 PM

I just got a bottle of it from petco today. It was the last one and I had been wanting to try some for my pair. Can anyone give any hints or tips for feeding them?

i put mine in with baby food since i just started and they happily accept it.

just mix it up like the back says, 2 parts water to 1 part CGD, and put it in there. adding baby food may make them eat it quicker, but it also reduces the nutritional value. they will eat it fine without any sweetener (baby food).

my cresteds wont eat it in water. i gradually added it to their babyfood. i started with just a little, and worked my way up. its worked fine for me.

Can you tell me about cgd. I have only had my gecko for a few weeks and though she was happy to eat it in baby food off my finger, she now turns her nose up at it. I think that the babyfood is too sweet for her as she pulls that face, you know the one kids pull when something is a bit too sweet or sour. Last night I made up a batch of cgd without babyfood and just put water with it, but I find the directions on the back tricky. What kind of consisitency should it be when I make it, seems very watery even after several minutes. Is there a measure that I can use such as a teaspoon so that I know how much to use? I suppose that if I use 2 spoons of cgd I use twice as much water, but if it on a spoon this seems to liquid, please help this is stessing me out!!!

Use the Crested Gecko Diet according to the instructions on the bottle.

Some people like to mix baby food with it, but that throws off the balance of nutrients Cresteds derive from the CGD.

Typically we mix ours up with enough water to make it a touch “runny”, but not watery.
